Jade Carey, the Olympic gold medalist, is facing uncertainty after a heartbreaking situation occurred at the selection camp for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

The top gymnasts have prepared on the mats in Texas in order to secure their spots on the team for the upcoming World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. In a highly competitive selection event, Simone Biles, an eight-time world champion in all-around, suffered a fall on the bars after winning at the 2023 U.S. classic. Her teammate and cheerleader, Jordan Chiles, also experienced disappointment during the floor exercise. And the list goes on.

The 2021 Olympic Floor Champion, Jade Carey, experienced a major letdown in her specialty. Due to a major error in her last full-twisting double layout, her spot on the team is now uncertain.

Unfortunately, things have taken a negative turn for Jade Carey.

Inside Gymnastics tweeted that Jade Carey had a challenging floor routine, as she seemed to step out of bounds on her full-twisting double layout. She also came up short on her double, but managed to stay on her feet. Unfortunately, she put her hands down on her last tumbling pass.

The 23-year-old gymnast landed her full-twisting double layout successfully, but then attempted another difficult move, a double double, which she had to lunge forward to control. However, when her hands touched the mat, she was disappointed to see a lower score displayed on the screen. This was due to her stepping out of bounds, resulting in a score of 12.300 (5.9, 6.400). Interestingly, another gymnast besides Carey also experienced a major setback on the floor. Simone Biles, who had made a strong comeback at the 2023 U.S. classics, fell during her routine on the bars.
